ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a warm and cordial telephone conversation with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in which both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the long-standing brotherly ties between the two countries.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz conveyed his best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
He also expressed gratitude for the Crown Prince’s devotion, sincerity and continued support to Pakistan, noting that recent engagements had significantly elevated bilateral relations to new heights.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need to maintain unity and harmony in the Muslim Ummah amidst various challenges. He emphasized that maintaining regional peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy remains essential.
Crown Prince Mohammed thanked the Prime Minister for the invitation and reiterated the Kingdom’s desire to expand cooperation with Pakistan in all areas of mutual interest. He expressed his intention to make an official visit to Pakistan in 2026.
In a related meeting, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy called on Prime Minister Shehbaz at the Prime Minister’s House and discussed the latest regional and global developments and exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation.
The ambassador conveyed warm greetings from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed and underlined Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to promoting closer ties with Pakistan. Shehbaz expressed satisfaction with the excellent state of bilateral relations.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed his decision to further deepen the historical and fraternal ties between the two countries. He also acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s consistent support to Pakistan in times of need and its constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.
