Norse Atlantic gets CAA approval for flights between UK and Islamabad

UK-based Norse Atlantic Airways has been granted permission by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to fly to Pakistan.

In the first phase, the airline is expected to fly from London to Islamabad, with planned direct routes from Manchester and Birmingham to follow.

Asif said the airline’s entry “will foster a competitive environment leading to world-class service and balance in fares.”

British Airways already flies to Pakistan, making Norse Atlantic the second British carrier to offer direct services. CAA officials said the new operations are expected to widen competition in the aviation sector.

Separately, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced on 30 December that it will resume direct flights to London after a gap of six years, with four weekly services from Islamabad from 29 March.

PIA already operates three weekly flights to Manchester, a route that resumed on October 25 after a five-year suspension. The service was initially relaunched with two weekly flights before being increased to three.
