Due to dense fog and zero visibility in various parts of the country, several stretches of highway have been temporarily closed to ensure the safety of travelers.
According to a statement by Highway Police spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmad, the following highways have been closed due to the fog: M-2 (Lahore to Haran Minar), M-3 (Lahore to Dera Khana), M-4 (Pindi Bhattian to Multan ), M-5 (Multan to Rohri) and Lahore-Sialkot highway M-11.
The spokesperson further advised the public to follow safety measures, avoid lane violations as they can lead to accidents and ensure compliance with lane discipline.
Travelers are encouraged to prefer to travel during the day, when the best travel times are between 10.00 and 18.00 in foggy conditions.
Drivers are advised to use both front and rear fog lights, keep a safe distance from vehicles in front and avoid unnecessary driving.

On the other hand, the port city witnessed an increase in cold intensity on Sunday as the minimum temperature dropped to 9.8°C, marking one of the coldest mornings of the season.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) stated that the city could face stronger than normal cold winds on Monday.
These winds from the northwest were expected to reduce temperatures further, with the minimum mercury expected to touch 9°C.
Over the next 24 hours, Karachi’s weather is expected to remain cold and dry, with maximum temperatures peaking at 28°C and minimum temperatures around 9°C.
Mild fog has also reduced visibility to three kilometers while northeasterly winds are blowing at speeds of 5 to 20 km/h.
