Melissa Gilbert, who was distraught about all the claims and allegations, decides to speak up.
Gilbert, who owns a clothing brand, Modern Prairie, issued a statement when Timothy Busfield surrendered to police on January 13.
Hours later, the brand understands the seriousness of the problem and addressed it via Instagram.
“Modern Prairie is aware of recent media reports regarding serious allegations involving a family member of our fire muse, Melissa Gilbert. These allegations do not implicate Modern Prairie, our operations or our community,” the statement said.
“Modern Prairie unequivocally condemns abuse in all forms and remains committed to the values of safety, integrity and respect.”
Modern Prairie reiterated, “These matters are personal and do not directly involve Melissa or the brand,” adding that the company “respects the family’s privacy as they navigate a difficult and personal situation.”
“Our focus remains on supporting our community and continuing our work with care, accountability and intent,” the statement concluded.
The fire statement follows Gilbert’s first comment on the full scenario and her husband’s arrest, which was shared by Gilbert’s representative, Ame Van Iden, on her behalf.
“She is honoring the request of Tim’s attorneys not to speak publicly while the legal process unfolds,” Van Iden said.
“At this time, her focus is on supporting and caring for their very large family as they navigate this moment. Melissa stands with and supports her husband and will address the public at an appropriate time. We ask that their privacy be respected.”
For those not in the know, Busfield is facing two sexual misconduct charges; one from the twin boys and one case of child abuse.
According to warrants, the alleged victims met twin boys Busfield at the shoot Fox series, The cleaning ladyafter Busfield joined as a director in season 2.
