The Senate Standing Committee on Home Affairs held a meeting to discuss a bill aimed at punishing persons involved in black magic and charms.

The meeting was chaired by Senator Faisal Saleem and the bill, tabled by Senator Samina Mumtaz, focuses on the punishment of those involved in black magic and its promotion.

The bill proposes seven years in jail for people involved in black magic and those promoting it, Express News reported.

Questioning where the boundaries of black magic begin and end, Senator Irfan Siddiqui mentioned that advertisements for such practices regularly appear in newspapers. He also raised concerns about the potential escalation of such practices.

Senator Samina Mumtaz responded by saying that practitioners of black magic are destroying the society. Senator Irfan Siddiqui responded that the issue was sensitive, to which Senator Samina Mumtaz responded saying she had no problem addressing it.

Senator Kamran shared his experience of visiting China and observing locks on the Great Wall, while Senator Faisal Saleem asked about the government’s actions in this regard.

Explaining that such practices are not part of Islam, Senator Samina argued that reciting certain prayers at a grave or elsewhere should not be confused with black magic.

Senator Faisal Saleem praised the bill and noted that it was a laudable initiative.

Senator Palwasha highlighted the exploitation of vulnerable people through black magic, with Senator Samina Mumtaz stressing that such practices are illegal and involve immoral activities.

Senator Samina shared a disturbing example where a black magic practitioner could demand the blood of a murdered child from a client. Senator Irfan Siddiqui stated that it is a difficult task to define black magic before making a new law.

Senator Samina Mumtaz also noted that people who practice black magic are involved in heinous activities.

The committee decided to postpone consideration of the bill until the next meeting.

A month ago, Pakistani actor Feroze Khan’s mother recently told that her family had been affected by black magic.

She shared this information on her YouTube channel and explained how various mystical practices, including needles stuck in lemons and mystical amulets, had been found in their home.

These incidents are said to have caused serious disruption in the family’s life.

The actor’s mother further explained that the negative effects of black magic led to illnesses in the family, including Feroze Khan and his father, both of whom fell ill unexpectedly.

She also mentioned that Feroze’s behavior had changed significantly during this period and became unusually erratic. In addition, she claimed that the family’s relationship was severely affected, leading to conflict and growing tension.
