Prime Minister Shehbaz, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif among many politicians present; Valima on Sunday

Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, joined Shanzeh Ali, grandson of senior PML-N leader Rohail Asghar, at a nikah ceremony in Lahore on Saturday.
The Nikah was solemnized by the sajjada nashin of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani’s shrine, while the bride’s consent was obtained by the chairman of Islamic Ideology, Mufti Raghib Hussain Naeemi.
For the ceremony, Junaid Safdar wore an ivory colored sherwani paired with a gold colored turban, while the bride was dressed in a traditional pink outfit, accessorized with jewellery.

A large number of political leaders and family members attended the ceremony, including the groom’s parents, grandfather PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Hamza Shehbaz, Salman Shehbaz, Hussain Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz, senior PML-N leaders as well as several foreign guests.
The Valima ceremony is scheduled to be held on Sunday at Jati Umra Farms where around 800 guests are invited. Prime Minister Shehbaz, federal and provincial ministers, senior political figures and foreign guests are expected to attend the reception.

The mehndi ceremony was held on Friday at Jati Umra, attended by close family members and guests. On the occasion, Junaid Safdar wore a deep navy blue traditional kurta with golden buttons, paired with a golden brown shawl draped over his shoulder.

It is worth noting that this is Junaid’s second marriage. He had previously married Ayesha Saif Khan in 2021 and the marriage ended in separation after two years, in 2023.
