Pixel phones are believed to be designed to last longer than other Android phones, but a pesky battery issue has drawn the ire of many Pixel users. Fortunately, Google Pixel smartphones solve the battery life problem.
Battery life in Pixel phones is considered a crucial aspect for users as most people opt for Pixel devices for the long term.
As reported by Android Authority, many Pixel owners have reported degraded battery performance over time, with noticeable drops after just a few months of regular use.
Despite Google’s promise of durability and the promise of seven years of software updates for Pixel phones, users often complain about the battery not living up to expectations.
Reports indicated that after around nine months, devices like the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro are struggling to maintain a charge, especially when using demanding applications.
The EU’s new Android battery rules
To address this, Google has patented a new battery design that complies with new European regulations requiring removable and replaceable batteries in wearable devices by February 2027.
This design eliminates the need for adhesives, which typically complicate battery replacement and pose safety risks.
Instead, the new EU regulations recommend mounting the battery in a rigid metal chassis so that users can easily access and replace the battery without special tools.
This approach not only improves the repairability of the Pixel phone, but also preserves the phone’s structural integrity and waterproofing.
If implemented in future Pixel models, such as the expected Pixel 12 series, users can enjoy an extended lifespan for their devices by simply replacing the battery every few years.
