DERA ISMAIL KHAN:
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday condoled with the families of five people martyred in a suicide bomb that hit a wedding ceremony in Dera Ismail Khan, condemning the attack as not just an assault on a social gathering but a blow that deeply scarred the collective conscience of the society.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, the JUI-F chief said he shared their grief and anguish, adding that such incidents leave the community “gasping in agony” long after the immediate tragedy is over.
He warned that recurring acts of violence are steadily eroding public confidence and reinforcing a broader sense of insecurity throughout the country.
He criticized the state’s handling of internal security, saying that while state institutions and security forces often highlighted their sacrifices and efforts to maintain peace, the lived reality for citizens tells a different story.
