Charli XCX was reportedly so engrossed in the promotion for The moment that she didn’t have the opportunity to watch the Oscar nominations.
The 33-year-old pop superstar was therefore shocked to find out that her friend and collaborator Ariana Grande was not recognized at the Oscars for her performance in Wicked: Too Good.
Responds to Side to Side singer’s snub, that 360 hitmaker said: “I haven’t looked at the nominations. I don’t know! I don’t know anything. Oh, Ari! She’s amazing. She’s going all out. I literally don’t know who’s nominated or not, but it’s a surprise to me that she wasn’t.”
The ABRUPT The singer said she felt “disappointed” that Grande and Cynthia Erivo weren’t nominated, adding, “I don’t watch a lot of movies, but I think the amazing musicianship they both displayed should be recognized.”
Charli XCX has had a busy start to the year promoting her film, which comes out on January 30, and her Wuthering Heights album that serves as the original soundtrack for the Emerald Fennell movie, scheduled for release on February 13th.
