Six terrorists neutralized in Panjgur, Kurram

Security forces carried out intelligence-based operations in Panjgur district of Balochistan and Kurram district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and killed six terrorists, including three associated with the Indian proxy Fitna al-Hindustan.

According to a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation in Panjgur was conducted on reported information about the presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group.

“During the execution of the operation, own forces effectively engaged the location of the terrorists and after an intense exchange of fire, three Indian-sponsored terrorists were sent to hell,” the ISPR’s new release said.

The dead terrorists, it said, included local area terror commander Farooq alias Soro, terrorist Adeel and terrorist Waseem. “Arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists who remained actively involved in several terrorist activities in the area,” it added.

“Sanitization operations are being carried out to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorist found in the area. The relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ as endorsed by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, by the security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menacing country, the wiped out terrorism,” it further said.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for the successful operation against Fitna-e-Hindustan terrorists in Panjgur. In separate statements, they said the entire nation stood with the armed forces in the war against terrorism.

President Zardari said operations against Fitna-e-Hindustan were indispensable for national security. Prime Minister Shehbaz said that under the vision of ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’, the security forces achieved significant successes against terrorism.

Meanwhile, forces in central Kurram conducted an operation after receiving information about the presence of Kharijis, a term used for terrorists belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). During the operation, there was an intense exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists. As a result of effective action, three terrorists were killed.

Separately, in Barmal tehsil of Lower South Waziristan district, unknown terrorists hurled a bomb using a quadcopter at the house of PTM coordinator Shah Hussain Pashtin. However, no loss of life or property was reported. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
