Security forces have killed four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the Spinwam area of ​​North Waziristan, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.

The operation, conducted overnight between January 14 and 15, targeted the terrorists’ hideout after credible intelligence reports confirmed their presence, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a fierce exchange of fire, four terrorists were neutralized, it said, adding that security forces also recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from the spot.

The ISPR stated that the terrorists were involved in several terrorist activities against security forces and targeted killing of innocent civilians.

Following the operation, clearance activities were initiated in the area to eliminate any remaining threats. The ISPR reiterated the military’s resolve to eradicate terrorism and ensure peace and stability throughout the country.

“Pakistan’s security forces remain steadfast in their commitment to eradicate the menace of terrorism,” the statement added.

Yesterday, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visited Peshawar where he met with political leaders of various parties in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to discuss the ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in the region.

During the meeting, he stressed that while opponents may try to spread fear and instability, Pakistan’s security forces will not back down and will respond decisively to any effort aimed at disrupting peace in the country, Express News reported.

According to an ISPR statement, General Munir was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar when he arrived in the city. He was briefed in detail about the current security situation, including ongoing anti-terrorist operations against the extremist group “Khawarij” and other threats.

During the visit, the army chief praised the sacrifices and determination of the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism. He noted that the country’s security forces had achieved exemplary success in fighting terrorism, making the nation proud of their efforts.

He highlighted the significant progress made in weakening terrorist groups, eliminating key leaders and destroying their networks, sending a strong message that there is no place for terrorism in Pakistan. He assured that this fight will continue until its logical conclusion.
