ISLAMABAD:

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) is scheduled to hear on Thursday (today) an application filed by the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) for an increase in electricity tariff under the monthly fuel price adjustment mechanism.

If approved, power consumers may face an increase of Rs 0.48 per unit for a month.

According to the CPPA, a total of 8.487 billion units of electricity was generated in December, while 8.208 billion units were supplied to distribution companies at an average price of Rs9.62 per unit.
