The SC public center serves over 6,700 visitors in January

ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court has said that its Public Facilitation Center in Islamabad is steadily bringing justice closer to citizens by providing all essential court-related services under one roof, with more than 6,700 people benefiting from the facility in January alone.

In a statement issued by the top court, officials said the center was established to make legal processes simpler, faster and more accessible, especially for ordinary litigants who often struggle to navigate complex legal procedures.

The court said the initiative reflects the vision of the Chief Justice of Pakistan to ensure that justice is not limited to judgments but also includes easy access and proper facilitation to the public.

According to the report, a total of 6,721 people approached the public facilitation center during January. In the same month, 1,267 new cases were filed in the SC, including 317 civil miscellaneous petitions.

The court also received 195 requests for early hearings, of which 125 cases were set for hearing.

The statement further said that 1,415 applications for certified copies were submitted during the month and 1,311 certified copies were issued.

The Public Facilitation Center currently provides more than 30 legal services that offer guidance, information and streamlined access to legal processes.

The SC said special arrangements have also been made to ensure a dignified and accessible environment for persons with disabilities. The initiative reflects the wider institutional commitment to public service, it added.

“Justice is not limited to judgments alone, facilitation is also an essential part of justice,” the statement said.
