Michael Jackson: The Trial, a new four-part docu-series from Wonderhood Studios, revisits the 2005 trial of the ‘King of Pop’ over allegations of child sexual abuse made by then 13-year-old Gavin Arvizo. The series is to air explosive ‘unheard’ audio footage of Jackson when it premieres in the UK tonight.
The series follows the documentary from 2003 Lives with Michael Jacksonwhich sparked widespread controversy. However, it is worth noting that after a four-month trial, the jury acquitted him Billie Jean singer in all respects.
Jackson died in 2009 of a Propofol overdose, but allegations of abuse persist. Frank Cascio and his siblings claim (per legal commentary) that Michael groomed and abused them between 1989 and 2009 and is seeking to overturn a 2020 ‘settling’ with the singer’s estate.
Viewers will also hear testimony from Vincent Amen, a former member of Jackson’s PR team. Amen claims a massive cover-up was orchestrated to protect the ‘King of Pop’ as the ‘trial of the century’ threatened to derail his career.
