Over 45 Rescue 1122 personnel with 13 vehicles battle large-scale fire; cause unknown

RAWALPINDI:

Rescue and firefighting teams have been dispatched after a fire broke out at a garment factory in Rawalpindi’s Rawat Industrial Estate on Monday.

A statement from Rescue 1122 said that over 45 people, along with 13 emergency vehicles, reached the spot and were involved in fire-fighting operations to bring the fire under control.

It said the fire was of a large scale and firefighting efforts were underway with the department’s firefighters from all districts dispatched to the scene.

“Several rescue firefighters have been sent to the scene,” the statement said, adding that the cause of the fire was not yet known.

It further said that other fire services and the Water and Sanitation Agency had also been called to the scene.
