Gus Kenworthy, a British-American Olympic skier representing Great Britain at the 2026 Milan Cortina Games, doubled down on his criticism of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Monday.
Kenworthy posted a graphic image that read “F— ICE” in urine as he stood over the phrase. He said in the video on his Instagram that he received a lot of “terrible” messages since he shared the photo.

He maintained that it was important to “stand up for what we believe in and stand up for justice.”
“I also think there’s a lot of nuance to it, and I feel like sometimes people forget that,” he said. “So I just want to remind everybody that you can love the United States and be proud to be an American – I am – and still believe it can get better and still believe the country can get better.
“And just because you love America doesn’t mean you stand with this administration and stand behind their policies and their legislation and support the things that they support. Because I don’t and I don’t support ICE. And I think that’s absolutely evil and horrible and terrifying. There have been American citizens who have been murdered in the street, executed in the street, and their officers are basically covered up in actions.”

Kenworthy alleged that ICE agents were “racially profiling people, rounding up black and brown people and kidnapping them, putting them in unmarked vehicles without warrants, without probable cause.”
“They’re being detained without any kind of due process. It’s crazy. It’s scary. And people are being sent to countries that they’re not even from. And American citizens are being caught up in this.
“And I think the majority of the people who are being targeted are good people, hard-working people who are non-violent and have no criminal history, who just came to the United States to seek a better life. And that’s literally the foundational story of the United States. We’re a country of immigrants, and that’s the American dream. And I think people forget that sometimes.”
