Olympic results: USA’s Ryan Cochran-Siegle wins silver medal

Olympic skier Ryan Cochran-Siegle picked up Team USA’s latest medal on Wednesday, winning a silver in men’s super-G alpine skiing.

Cochran-Siegle compiled a time of 1:25.45 to finish 0.13 seconds behind Swiss ski star Franjo von Allmen, who picked up her third gold medal of the Milan Cortina Games. The Swiss Marco Odermatt won bronze.

For Cohran-Siegle, it is his second Olympic medal in his career. He won a silver medal in the same event at the 2022 Beijing Olympics. He placed 14th in the super-G in his first appearance at the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang.

He finished 18th in the steeplechase earlier at these Olympics.

Americans Sam Morse, Kyle Negomir and River Radamus also competed in the super-G. Morse finished 23rd with a time of 1:27.12 and Negomir finished 26th with a time of 1:28.62. Radamus did not complete the pitch as he slipped and fell out of position. He appeared to be frustrated with himself as he skied toward officials who were near his section of the hill.

Cochran-Siegle, who is from Vermont and skis out of the Mount Mansfield club, made his World Cup debut when he was 19. But he has finished no better than seventh in super-G in his career. He’s done for these games and will be cheering on his ski teammates the rest of the way.

Negomir will compete in giant slalom and team combined later in these games. Ryder Sarchett will also compete in the giant slalom. Negomir and Radamus competed in the combined team and finished in 18th place.
