Former Chief of Army Staff General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa has been hospitalized after suffering a fall at his home, according to a video posted on X by Bajwa’s brother-in-law Naeem Ghummam.

“He was barefoot when he slipped and suffered a head injury,” he said. After the fall, he was moved to the Combined Military Hospital for treatment.
“No matter how many tests there are for the body, he has gone through them,” Ghummam said, adding that General Bajwa was “100% out of danger” and that nothing suspicious came up in his medical examination.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa served as the 16th Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of the Pakistan Army for a tenure of over six years, from November 2016 to November 2022. His appointment was made by the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and he was given an extended tenure of three years by Prime Minister Imran Khan in 201 Khan.
General Bajwa officially retired on 29 November 2022 when his extended tenure ended.
