ISLAMABAD:
A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held in Peshawar on February 18 to sight the Ramazan moon for 1447AH.
The central session, chaired by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad, will decide whether the holy month will begin on February 19 or 20.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs issued a notification confirming that zonal moon sighting meetings will also be held in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Quetta.
Sources in the Ministry of Science and Technology suggested that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are likely to observe the start of Ramazan simultaneously this year.
