Islamabad announces revised school timings for Ramadan

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) on Wednesday announced revised operating hours for all state-run educational institutions in the capital for the upcoming holy month of Ramazan.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced today that the crescent of Ramazan 1447 AH was observed and that the first fast of the holy month would be observed on Thursday.

Therefore, a decision notification issued by FDE Academics Wing on school timings affects Islamabad Model Schools and Colleges, as well as former FG colleges in both urban and rural areas. The revised schedule aims to provide relief to students and staff observing the fast, while allowing academic activities to continue without interruption.

As per the new schedule, single-team institutions and Ex-FG colleges will operate from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, with an earlier closing at 12.00 on Fridays.

For institutions with two shifts, the morning session will run from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm during the week. The evening session is scheduled from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with classes on Friday evenings starting at 1.30 pm to accommodate congregational prayers.

In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the Ministry of Education announced revised school timings for the holy month, according to an official notification issued today.

Under the new timetable for general areas in the province, primary schools will operate from 7:45 to 11:15. Middle, high and high schools will run from 7:45 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.

The revised timings will remain in effect throughout Ramazan to make it easier for students and staff to observe the fast.

The Sindh School Education Department also revised school timings across the province, according to a notification issued today.

The announcement outlined new schedules for elementary, middle and high schools. According to the revised schedule, single-team schools will operate from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while on Fridays they will close earlier. 11.30 am.

For dual team schools, the first shift will run from 7:30 to 11:30. The second shift will run from 11:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

The new timings will apply to all public and private schools in Sindh.
