Four terrorists killed in Lakki Marwat IBO: ISPR

Security forces killed four terrorists associated with the banned “Indian proxy Fitna al-Khwarij” conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.

Fitna al-Khawarij is a term the state uses to refer to terrorists associated with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

According to a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday following reports of the presence of militants.

“During the execution of the operation, own troops effectively engaged them khwarij location and after an intense exchange of fire four khwarij was sent to hell,” the statement said.

The ISPR added that arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists, who it said had remained actively involved in several terrorist activities in the area.

It further said that clearance operations were underway to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists found in the area.

“The relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’, as endorsed by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, by Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue at full speed to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country,” the statement added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for the successful operation.

According to a statement issued by the PM Office Press Wing, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the security forces achieved significant successes in the fight against terrorism. He confirmed the government’s resolve to completely eliminate all forms of terrorism from the country.

The Prime Minister further stated that the entire nation stood shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces in the war against terrorism and remained committed to ensuring lasting peace and stability in the country.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised the brave security personnel for carrying out the timely and effective operation.

He praised the professionalism and courage displayed by the forces and stated that the entire nation viewed their actions with appreciation and pride.

Naqvi emphasized that with the support of the nation, terrorism would be completely eradicated and no leniency would be shown to enemies of the state.
