It’s surreal to think that we’re already over halfway through February 2026. If time is simply going too fast for your liking, it might be worth putting your feet up and watching something on one or more of the world’s best streaming services this weekend.
Like last week’s round-up, there isn’t a colossal amount of new movies and series to choose from. Nevertheless, I’m sure you’ll find something of interest among our seven top picks for the week, which include The night agent‘s latest season among its number. Good streaming! – Tom Power, senior entertainment reporter
The Night Agent Season 3 (Netflix)
Look at
Pack your bags, because maverick FBI agent Peter Sutherland’s next mission is ready to take us to Istanbul, Mexico City, Washington, New York, and The Dominican Republic i The night agent season 3.
Peter is tasked with hunting down a young financial agency that absconded with secret government information after killing their boss, and he soon has a bounty on his head when he uncovers a dark money network that has been rigging elections. With assassins closing in to protect an international conspiracy, can Sutherland destroy this latest house of cards?
Netflix is billing this high-stakes manhunt as Peter’s “most dangerous mission to date,” which is no small claim considering how successful Shawn Ryan’s spy thriller has already been. – Amelia Schwanke, senior entertainment editor
56 days (prime video)
Look at
Prime Video used to make a name for itself with the regular rollout of must-see shows aimed at 16 to 25-year-olds, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to see the romantic crime thriller 56 days take center stage this week.
The steamy whodunit stars Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia as Ciara and Oliver, who become embroiled in a murder mystery after a whirlwind romance. All eight episodes of 56 days is already out on Prime Video, so I’d recommend watching this Amazon TV Original ASAP so no one spoils the ending before you get to it. – TP
Rent Family (Hulu/Disney+)
Look at
The Brendan Fraser Renaissance is a movement I’ve been behind for a long time now. In fact, his return to the limelight after various personal issues is one I have welcomed, especially for an actor as talented and a person as humble as he is.
You can bet then that the arrival of his latest film – a dramedy rang Rental family – on Hulu and Disney+ means my weekend viewing is sorted. In it, Fraser plays Philip, a struggling actor living in Japan who takes a second job at a family rental company. Using his skills, he plays various roles in the lives of strangers dealing with their own problems.
Another inevitable addition to Fraser’s work, Rental family makes you laugh one minute and cry the next. A deeply compassionate, sweet and warm film that deserves more eyes on it. – TP
The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2 (Apple TV)
Look at
Laura Dave only released the sequel to the hit novel The last thing he told me in January, so it’s a surprise to see that Apple TV has already released the first episode of its second season.
Initially, Dave had not planned a sequel, but the strong response to the story of Hannah, a wife searching for the truth behind her husband Owen’s disappearance, made another chapter inevitable. For Jennifer Garner, who plays Hannah, however, a new season was a no-brainer. “Don’t you realize you wrote one of the greatest cliff-hangers of all time?” she asked Dave at a preview of Apple TV’s 2026 slate. We’ll see if the payoff is worth it in Apple TV Originals’ next chapter. – AS
Murder in Glitterball City (HBO Max)
If you loved Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato’s 1998 cult classic Party Monster: The Shockumentarywho delved into New York’s infamous ‘Club Kids’ scene, you won’t want to miss their new HBO Max true crime documentary Murder in Glitterball City.
The story delves into the queer subculture of Louisville, Kentucky, following the 2010 murder of Jamie Carrol, a hairdresser and drag performer known as Ronicka Reed, whose body was found buried in the basement of a Victorian mansion.
At the center of the case are lovers Joey Banis and Jeffrey Mundt, who accuse the other in what became known as the “He-said-he-said” lawsuit. This documentary takes us back to the cold love triangle and its deadly outcome, and will send shivers down your spine. – AS
The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants (Paramount+)
Look at
Big guy, big guy. If you’ve seen the viral Ice Spice dance videos on TikTok, you already know the premise The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarewhich is out now on Paramount+.
Tired of being nervous about everything, SpongeBob decides to put on his big guy pants and ride Bikini Bottom’s biggest slide. But when he botches it, he unwittingly ends up helping the Flying Dutchman try to lift his life curse.
If you were under 10 in the 2000s and believed the original SpongeBob the movie was the bee’s knees, this movie is for you. The animation style might have changed, but the heart certainly hasn’t. – Jasmine Valentine, entertainment reporter
2026 BAFTAs (BBC/E!/HBO Max)
Look at
Can you believe that Paddington Bear himself will be presenting at this year’s BAFTA Film Awards? It’s honestly worth tuning in for that alone.
The BAFTAs are the last big awards stop before this year’s Oscars, and it’s most likely to contradict the Hollywood winners. I’d probably put money on Jessie Buckley winning Best Actress for The port and Timothée Chalamet won Best Actor for Marty Supremebut be prepared for some potential surprises. – JV
