Imran taken to PIMS for treatment

He remained vitally stable before, during and after the procedure and was discharged with instructions for care

Jailed PTI founder Imran Khan was brought to PIMS for follow-up eye treatment ie. second dose of anti-VEGF intravitreal injection in the wee hours of Tuesday (today), a press release said.

Prior to the procedure, Imran was examined by a specialist committee which included a senior cardiologist who also performed echocardiography and EKG.

The results were found to be normal, the press release said, adding that Imran was found to be clinically stable.

“After obtaining informed consent and under standard monitoring, precautions and protocols in the operating room, he was injected with a second dose of intravitreal injection of Anti VEGF under the guidance of microscopy by Consultant Ophthalmologist and Consultant Vitreo-Retina Surgeon from PIMS and Al Shifa, added a surgical treatment, the hospital said.”

During the stay, Imran remained vitally stable before, during and after the procedure and was discharged with care instructions, follow-up advice and the documents.
