Boys of Tommen: release date prediction
The Boys of Tommen The TV adaptation for Prime Video was officially announced in February, when the streamer revealed the cover of the episode’s script on Instagram.
So we know it’s being written by Poppy Cogan (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder)but we don’t quite know when it will be released yet. But according to Deadline, it looks like production is slated to start this year, which would mean the show could hit Prime Video as early as 2027. We’ll keep our ears open for news and update here as soon as we hear.
Boys of Tommen trailer: is there one?
Although production will reportedly begin later this year, there is no sign of one Boys of Tommen trailer yet. As with any show on a major streamer, the trailer usually arrives a month or so before the premiere. As such, we imagine we won’t see a trailer until at least 2027.
Boys of Tommen season 2 cast confirmed
I need the casting directors for boys from Tommen with prime to book a flight to Ireland state and cast some homegrown talent11 February 2026
As of now, there is no confirmed or predicted cast Boys of Tommen although we imagine the initial focus will be on finding Johnny Kavanagh and Shannon Lynch from the TV adaptation given that they are the main characters in Walsh’s first two books.
Over on Twitter/X, Boys of Tommen fans are voicing their concerns about the casting, although as seen above, @amikagott is just keen that the casting directors go to Ireland, where the books are set, to hire “homegrown talent”. We’ll get into more about Johnny and Shannon’s roles in the plot details below.
Boys of Tommen plot details and rumours
It has been revealed Boys of Tommen Season 1 will be based on the first two books in Walsh’s series, Binding 13 and Holds 13.
The official plot synopsis has been revealed by Prime Video: “It follows the forbidden love story of Johnny Kavanagh, the star rugby player on the brink of a professional career, and Shannon Lynch, the talented but painfully shy new girl at the prestigious Tommen College in Ballylaggin, Ireland.
“Both teenagers harbor secrets; Johnny, a potentially devastating injury and Shannon, a troubled and violent home life. Through their secret and highly charged connection, the two teenagers from opposite worlds fight against the odds and find a way to save each other.”
Without giving too much away, the first two books follow Johnny and Shannon’s complicated relationship as they navigate some incredibly dire situations. And while you could get all the plot details about the first season by reading both of these books, that’s entirely up to you.
But, the decision to bring Boys of Tommen for Prime Video, it seems like it was easy, with CEO Nicole Clemens telling Deadline: “It’s just an incredible constellation of characters, but it also has such specificity to place and time. It talks about abuse, about bullying, about mental health, and it’s about love. It’s a romantic series.”
Will there be more seasons of Boys of Tommen?

We know that Boys of Tommen season 1 will follow the first two books of Chloe Walsh’s six-book series, but that means we also know there are four other books to use as source material for later seasons.
And as illustrated by a fan on Twitter/X, there are a lot of characters and a lot of complicated webs that connect them all.
Speaking to Deadline, Clemens said: “Who knows how many we’ll do, but hopefully it’ll last a long time. There’s a lot of material and a lot of incredible, rich characters.”
In the third and fourth books, the focus turns to Joey Lynch and Aoife Molloy. In the fifth book, Gibsie and Claire, and in the sixth book, Lizzie and Hugh. And there are even rumors of a seventh book in the series, so there’s plenty of room for more on Prime Video. I imagine we won’t hear more until the streamer sees how it works once it’s released, but we’ll be sure to update here when we do.
