The Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected bail applications following the arrest of a person accused of sending people out of the country through illegal means. The suspect was arrested after the boat tragedy in Greece in 2023 in which dozens of Pakistani immigrants lost their lives.
On Tuesday, LHC Chief Justice Aalia Neelum took up the bail plea of accused Yasir Warraich, who was booked by the FIA under two separate charges.
“This incident brought dishonor to the country all over the world,” the chief justice observed. She later rejected the accused’s bail applications in both the cases.
