- NordVPN has revamped its mobile apps with a cleaner interface
- Combined search and expandable map make it easier to change locations
- New connection statistics and Threat Protection charts increase transparency
NordVPN has rolled out a completely redesigned mobile app that aims to deliver a cleaner, more intuitive user experience. Rather than introducing new encryption protocols or security features, the update focuses solely on ease of use—refining the way users navigate, connect, and monitor their protection.
As the company explains in a blog post, the changes were built on user research and feedback with the main goal of simplifying the user interface without compromising advanced functionality.
The update is the latest step in NordVPN’s ongoing work to develop its product as one of the best VPNs out there.
A cleaner interface for everyday use
The change that stands out the most is streamlined interface that reduces visual clutter while keeping the key buttons front and center.
When you open the app, your suggested server is immediately displayed, so you can connect without having to click through multiple menus. City names are also shown together with country names.
If you’ve set a preferred location, it remains pinned as your default choice, so your experience is consistent every time you launch the app. Security status indicators and core connection action buttons are still immediately visible, but the layout has been refined and feels more focused and less cluttered.
In the update, NordVPN also reworked the way users explore and switch locations. The short now opens in a more compact view that highlights your current connection for a quick overview. If you prefer a wider view, the map can be expanded to full screen, allowing you to scroll freely and connect via marked location pins.
Search have been consolidated into a single, unified interface. Whether you’re looking for a specific country, a special server type, or even a Meshnet device, you can access it all from a single search box. The “All Locations” button opens the complete list, and advanced users can still connect to specific servers by entering their unique server number.
Together, the updates mean less switching between menus, faster server swapping and more precise control over how and where you connect.
Makes protection more visible
In addition to visual polish, NordVPN also expands how you can see your protection in action. The updated statistics section now shows how long your connection has been secured, along with weekly comparisons to help track your usage trends over time.
On Android, Call Protection statistics break down how often fraud or unwanted calls have been blocked.
Looking ahead, NordVPN also plans to have the Threat Protection tab begin showing daily charts and weekly summaries. These will show how many ads, trackers and malicious websites have been stopped while browsing. These statistics are stored locally on your device, keeping the data private.
The app redesign is another milestone in a busy year for NordVPN.
In 2026 alone, the company reaffirmed its no-logs policy for the sixth time through an independent audit. It also announced a partnership with CrowdStrike to bolster its Threat Protection Pro suite. In addition, it introduced improvements for users connecting from 30 harder-to-reach countries.
Although the latest mobile app update focuses on ease of use rather than a raw security boost, it reinforces NordVPN’s ongoing push to refine both performance and the everyday user experience.
