TechRadar Australian PC Awards
The world of technology has never been more exciting – and TechRadar helps up to 30 million people around the globe every month find and use the technology they love. Our world-class experts live and breathe the latest technology and, like a trusted friend or advisor, seek to provide clear and objective advice.
The Australian PC Awards was launched in 2017 with the aim of harnessing the countless hours of product testing and our team’s expert knowledge to shortlist the best products and services released each calendar year. Since then, we’ve rated thousands of products across dozens of categories. The experience and knowledge of our editorial teams, together with rigorous testing and benchmarking processes, all lead to the selection of award finalists and winners that we are confident in recommending as the best available.
What it means to win an Australian PC award winner
When a product or service makes it onto our winners list, you know it has gone through a thorough, objective assessment and analysis.
Each product or service we identify for inclusion in the awards is assessed against exactly the same criteria, regardless of any commercial conditions. There are no smoke-and-mirrors assessments. Our aim is simply to determine the best available opportunities in Australia for that category.
Only the very best products in each category make it into the judges’ cut, so every time you see our Australian PC Awards badge displayed, you can be sure that the product is one of the top contenders in its field.
Frequently asked questions
How is a winner determined?
The winners of the Australian PC Awards are handpicked in a careful multi-stage evaluation process by our expert judges. Product reviews conducted by TechRadar, as well as other PC-related sites within the global Future network, are tabulated and rated comparatively. These sites include Tom’s Hardware, PC Gamer, Windows Central, and Tom’s Guide.
A shortlist of finalists is then drawn up. Senior editorial members evaluate and discuss all aspects of the products on this list before selecting a winner in each category, as well as noting some highly recommended runners-up.
What are the assessment criteria?
Our judging criteria varies for each category, but each product is judged against the same criteria, so you can be sure we’ve rated each product equally. We will publish an overview of each category when the winners are announced. This covers the important technical and market developments throughout the judging period that contributed to the winners being selected. Key factors include innovation, value and quality.
Are you comparing all the products on the market for the prices?
We certainly aim to include as many products and providers on the market in the Australian PC Awards as we can. However, there may be some categories – such as those where hundreds or thousands of new products are released each year – where it is not possible to include all products on the market. In these cases, we endeavor to ensure that we have included all potential finalists for a given category.
