Train traffic back on track after 6 hours interruption

RAWALPINDI:

A heavy crane was brought to Rawalpindi from Lahore to clear the railway track blocked since the derailment of the engine and two coaches of the Green Line train yesterday, railway officials and workers said on Thursday.

The incident took place near Bakery Chowk on Wednesday. Rail operations on the route remained paralyzed for six hours.

Railway authorities later stated that the track has now been fully restored and train operations have resumed as normal. Fortunately, the Green Line train was empty at the time of the derailment.
