Seven people were killed and eight injured when two vehicles collided on the Makran Coastal Highway near Neji, about 40 kilometers from Ormara on Saturday night.
Emergency officials reported that the accident happened around 2:30 a.m. when a stopped oil tanker suddenly blocked the road, causing two speeding vehicles to collide. One vehicle was on its way from Gwadar to Karachi while the other was on its way from Karachi to Turbat.
The impact was so severe that several passengers died instantly, while others sustained serious injuries. Rescue 1122 team and Coastal Highway police immediately reached the spot and shifted the deceased and injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Among those who lost their lives were Mushtaq, son of Arbab of Shahdadkot; Bano from Hoshab; Ali Ahmed, son of Hasil Khan of Quetta; Ali Bakhsh, son of Abdul Ghafoor of Sonmiani; Karim Jan, son of Ali Jan of Turbat; and father Muhammad, son of Misri of Karachi.
