Justin Baldoni’s lawyer has just responded to Blake Lively’s legal team’s statement about the countersuit he has filed against her and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
For context, the It ends with us star and director sued his co-star and the Deadpool actor for defamation, specifically accusing Lively of plotting to destroy his career by making false allegations of sexual harassment.
As per Daily Maillegal documents state that the A-list Hollywood couple used their combined influence in the industry to hijack the production of the Colleen Hoover adaptation, in which Baldoni starred as well as directed.
Now, as reported by deadline, after Lively’s team reacted rather violently to the counterclaim Jane the Virgin the star’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, has clapped back.
“After my clients filed a comprehensive lawsuit filled with nearly 200 pages of indisputable facts and documentary evidence that crushed their false allegations of a smear campaign by providing qualified communications to New York TimesBlake and her legal team have only one heinous pivot left, and that is to double down on the outrageous false sexual accusations against Mr. Baldoni,” he said.
Freedman continued: “The very fact that Ms. Lively feels she can publicly destroy Mr. Baldoni’s reputation in an attempt to destroy his future career and then deny him or his team their own ability to defend themselves against her is absurd .”
“Mr. Baldoni never once attempted to publicly call Ms. Lively out on her own many wrongdoings during filming, he addressed all of her concerns during filming in the correct manner despite completely disagreeing, he himself was committed to do things differently and keep the peace as she specifically admitted in her own lawsuit,” he further clarified.
“Not only will we continue to defend our clients against Blake’s power, privilege and all her lies, but we will now fight even harder for the voiceless in the DV community who suffer unfairly as she continues to push her own self-serving and selfish vendetta in the media,” Freedman concluded.
Justin Baldoni’s lawyer’s new comments come after Blake Lively’s team labeled his lawsuit under the umbrella of victim blaming, telling the Daily Mail: “This latest lawsuit by Justin Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and its employees is another chapter in the abuser’s handbook.”
