- Claude gives all its users double usage for two weeks
- The bonus application can only be used outside peak hours
- Users have flocked to Claude over its stance on military AI
We know that AI chatbot users have flocked to Claude in recent days — partly due to the stance parent company Anthropic has taken on deals with the US military — and now all Claude users are getting double the usage limits for the next two weeks.
According to the official Claude account on X, the gesture is “a small thank you” to users. It applies to all types of usage across all subscription tiers and plans (including the free tier) and no action is required to activate it.
There’s a catch, though: these extra usage limits are only available during off-peak hours. On weekdays, it’s 5am to 11am PT – or 8am to 2pm ET, 12pm to 6pm GMT, and 11pm to 5am if you’re using Claude in Australia.

Weekends can take advantage of the extra spending limits all day, so it might be the best time to build something with Claude Code, or try the new interactive visualization feature that has just been rolled out for the AI chatbot.
Until 27 March

You can find out more information on the usage promotion page. The offer runs from Friday 13 March until the end of Friday 27 March. Enterprise accounts do not qualify for the promotion and bonus spend does not count towards your weekly limits.
If you’re wondering what your current usage limits are, it’s complicated: it depends on everything from how complex your messages are to how long your conversations last before you start a new chat. The more you pay, the more consumption you get, of course.
As we’ve reported before, even those who have paid subscription plans don’t get unlimited chats with Claude, so you may find yourself hitting the buffers sooner than you expect. With that in mind, this bonus use should be welcomed by everyone.
Claude’s principles when it comes to AI ethics and military use have led to it being dropped by US government agencies, so White House and Pentagon personnel are among those who will not be able to benefit from the campaign.
