LAHORE:
PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that the entire nation stood firmly with the armed forces in the fight against terrorism and stressed the need for collective efforts to rid the country of extremism and build a peaceful society.
He expressed these views on Sunday during a meeting with a 20-member delegation of religious scholars and spiritual leaders led by Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad.
PML-Q General Secretary Tariq Hassan was also present in the meeting.
Shujaat said Islam teaches peace, love, tolerance and service to humanity, adding that the armed forces, under the leadership of the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) and Field Marshal Asim Munir, were engaged in the fight against the enemies of peace.
During the meeting, members of the scholars’ delegation strongly condemned the ongoing attacks on Iran by the US and Israel, saying that no hostile agenda or conspiracy would be allowed to succeed in Pakistan.
