ISLAMABAD:
The Power Division said on Wednesday that the country’s electricity system remained stable and efficient during February 2026, successfully meeting electricity demand that remained higher than expected.
According to a spokesman, both electricity production and consumption exceeded the expected level during the month, reflecting increased utilization of the system. He noted that seasonal factors such as reduced hydel availability typical of this period, along with temporary outages of certain generating units, affected the overall energy mix. Despite these conditions, the system was carefully managed through established operational protocols.
He said strict adherence to merit order dispatch mechanism and optimum utilization of available resources ensured efficient system performance.
