Cynthia Erivo stepped in to help after a young fan was knocked to the ground by a security guard outside the Noel Coward Theater in London.
The fan, whose name was Lewis, was waiting to meet the star after her one-woman show Dracula.
Online footage shows Erivo, 39, telling him to “breathe, honey” while saying: “I wasn’t just hurt, I was attacked. I’m not an angry person, I don’t put my hands on people.”
Cynthia continued to reassure him, saying, “I’m so sorry about what happened to you. I can see you’re hurt, I understand.”
The theater confirmed that the guard was not their employee, as sources shared that he may have believed a situation was getting out of hand.
An insider said Evil the star was very friendly and did everything she could to reassure fans.
Lewis told Cynthia it wasn’t her fault, saying, “It was nothing to do with you. So I’m so sorry you have to deal with this now. It’s disgusting. It was horrible.”
The Metropolitan Police is investigating what happened.
Erivo, who plays 23 different roles in Draculahas received rave reviews and continues to perform in the show until May 31.
