Pishin rally: up promises to defend democracy

Leaders of the opposition alliance held a public gathering in Pishin on Monday, expressing concern over the country’s political situation and announcing a nationwide movement aimed at protecting democratic values ​​and constitutional order. Mahmood Khan Achakzai, head of the Movement for Protection of the Constitution in Pakistan, stressed that the public mandate must be respected and warned that any deviation from constitutional principles could lead to further instability. He announced a series of protests across the country to advocate for citizens’ rights, adding that all nationalities must be guaranteed equal rights and representation in the federation. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi while addressing the gathering said that leadership must remain accountable to the people and decisions should be taken through transparent and democratic processes. He highlighted concerns about management practices and called for greater involvement of public opinion in policy-making. Afridi emphasized the importance of addressing issues in Balochistan and KP through dialogue and constitutional means. Other speakers at the event echoed similar views, calling for respect for democratic norms, political freedoms and institutional balance.
