The CEO of Oracle has outlined the latest phase in the company’s bid to build the “world’s largest AI cloud” for customers around the world.
Speaking at the company’s Oracle AI Tour World London 2026 event, Mike Sicilia spoke about the myriad of possibilities offered by AI tools, comparing the current state of technology to that of propeller-driven aircraft being supplanted by jet engines.
“Expectations in the age of AI simply haven’t risen—they’ve been completely reset,” he noted, “things that felt out of touch just a few years ago, a few months ago, and in some cases just a few weeks ago, are now the new normal.”

Think bigger
In a packed keynote, Sicilia unveiled a slew of new product and service announcements from Oracle.
“AI is changing how work is done so people can focus on strategy instead of administration,” he said, “AI doesn’t just make businesses faster, it allows them to think bigger.”
“We’ve done the refactoring for you, so these AI features should be easy to enable and get the most out of (and) we hope this will help you reach places you’ve never been before.”
“AI isn’t here to replace expertise—it’s here to elevate it by taking on the invisible complexity beneath ideas like analytics coordination and prediction.”
Among Oracle’s announcements were new agentic AI tools that allow enterprises to build, deploy and scale secure AI applications using real-time enterprise data, 22 new AI-powered Fusion Agentic applications and a new OCI platform for building, deploying and managing AI at scale – demonstrating the scope of the company’s offerings.
“With Oracle, we want you to decide,” concluded Sicilia, “we’re not here to define your AI future, we’re here to give you the tools to shape it…we have some ideas, but more importantly, we have the tools to help you turn your own ideas into reality.”
