Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi was given separate briefings at the Governor’s House on the operation and restoration of Radio Pakistan Peshawar and the efforts of the Immigration and Passport Department in the province on Wednesday.

The first briefing on Radio Pakistan was delivered by station director Tufail Ahmed, with senior producer Sardar Azam Khan also present. Officials informed the Governor that the station was founded on 6 March 1935 with initial broadcasts from the Civil Secretariat.

Governor Kundi was also briefed about the damage done to the Radio Pakistan building during the May 9, 2023 riots when miscreants caused extensive destruction and set fire to valuable historical footage. Officials reported that restoration work was completed in January 2026, allowing all offices and departments to resume full operations.
