the scandal affects over 2,500 candidates

HYDERABAD:

As controversy over alleged corruption and falsification of examination results engulfs the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mirpurkhas, the board has released a list of 2,539 candidates who secured undue advantage in the results between 2021 and 2025. The board’s chairman, Col (R) Dr. by manipulating the examination results, they issue a list of candidates who have secured grades and certificates with the help of undue advantage.

The eight-page press release contains the year numbers of the high school certificate and high school certificate students who passed the exam and received academic certificates from the board from 2021 to 2025. According to him, false registration, registration and issuance of other documents to take candidates also took place. He stated that the board has canceled the academic certificates issued to the candidates whose seat numbers are contained in the list. He requested these students to disclose the names of the officials of BISE Mirpurkhas and the schools and colleges who were playing with their future by helping them secure marks and certificates illegally.

The affected students have been given 30 days to raise their objections to the controller exams. Although Mirpurkha’s board has faced allegations of corruption and favoritism for many years, the recent arrest of a secret department staff Azam Khan and the associated suspension of over half a dozen officials including former controller Anwar Aleem Khanzada has exposed the state of affairs.

Khanzada, son of MQM-P’s MNA Abdul Aleem Khanzada, who himself served as chairman of BISE Mirpurkhas, is at the center of the controversy. He was suspended from his post as controller examinations on 9 March.
