‘Discussions have taken place’: A new Avengers: Doomsday rumor suggests its release date could be changed again – and it will be good news for Marvel fans if true

  • Avengers: Doomsday‘s release date may change again
  • An insider has claimed that Marvel executives have discussed such a possibility
  • This time, however, it can move up a week to avoid Dune: Part 3

Avengers: Doomsday‘s launch date is reportedly set to move again – but this time it could be not only a welcome change, but a very significant one.

According to industry insider John Campea, Marvel is seriously considering moving up its release by one week to December 11, 2026. Currently, Doomsday is set to hit theaters worldwide on December 18, 2026.

Originally scheduled to arrive on May 1, 2025, Avengers 5 was pushed back a year to May 2, 2026 due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes. So last May, the comic titan further delayed one of the year’s most exciting new movies to allow more time for production.

But with the latest release date locked in, fans quickly realized Doomsday would go head-to-head with another long-awaited sequel in Dune: Part 3. The latter film, which is expected to conclude the epic sci-fi film trilogy starring Timothy Chalament and Zendaya, is also set to hit theaters worldwide on December 18.
