Taryn Manning explains ‘violent’ attack video

Taryn Manning resigned after a viral video showed her in a heated physical altercation.

She insisted the footage paints a one-sided picture.

Manning denied reports that the woman involved was her partner.

The Orange Is the New Black alum spoke out on March 31, a day after TMZ released a clip of what appeared to be Manning in a confrontation with another woman.

In the video, Manning can be heard yelling, “Look what you’ve done to my f–king studio,” before threatening to call the police.

The person filming replies, “Call the police. I’m going to show them you just attacked me.”

The 47-year-old took to Instagram to address the incident.

She said “a lot of context” was missing from the coverage.

“I don’t want to see it because I don’t want to upset myself,” she explained. “Because I know that violence is never, never, never good.”

She went on to clarify that the woman in the video was not her girlfriend.

“She’s not my family. She’s not my girlfriend, my wife,” Manning said.

“Why do I have to house this random girl who was a fan that I befriended 18 years ago? It’s too much.”

The actress admitted that the release of the video made her feel defamed.

“It’s like turning on me and I’m just sitting here having to take it. Tired of it. It’s bad. It’s not smart.”

Taryn staffs past legal issues:

The incident has drawn attention to Manning’s past legal problems.

In 2012, she was arrested for assault after attacking her personal assistant Holly Hartman, although prosecutors later dropped the case when Hartman declined to pursue the charge.

Hartman later filed for a restraining order in 2016 after another alleged confrontation, which Manning denied.

For now, Manning insists the latest video doesn’t tell the whole story.

“I look like this one-sided, violent person,” she said, adding that she hopes the situation will be understood in a larger context.
