A fiery postgame interaction over sign-stealing allegations has finally been resolved, Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh said this week.
Saleh, who was the San Francisco 49ers’ defensive coordinator at the time, said his beef with Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen is “water under the bridge” after the two came to blows after a game last season.

The interaction that followed the 49ers’ Week 4 loss to Jacksonville stemmed from Saleh’s pregame comments in which he complimented Cohen’s staff for being good at legitimate “sign stealing.”

“They legitimately have a really advanced signal-stealing system where they always find a way to put themselves in an advantageous situation,” he said at the time.
The remark led to a shouting match after the match, in which Coen was caught telling Saleh: “Keep my name out of your mouth.” Saleh responded by shouting back at Coen, but later explained that he had misspoken when trying to compliment the coach.

But less than a year later and the two coaches appear to be on good terms.

“We’re good,” Saleh said during the NFL’s annual league meetings this week. “I know the NFL probably wants more of a story, but there is no story. I have an appreciation for Liam. Like I said, I used the wrong word when I was trying to give him a compliment, but all that is water under the bridge.”
Coen echoed that sentiment, adding that “we all respect what we do and how we do it in different ways.”

While the feud between the two has subsided, the two coaches are now division rivals after Saleh was hired as the Titans head coach in January.
