Ricky Saints made an electric WWE debut in February 2025 when he appeared in the crowd at NXT and declared that the brand needed “the superstar of the future”.

The Saints quickly made an impact on NXT.

He won the NXT North American Championship nearly three months after his debut and successfully defended the title against Ethan Page at his first Stand & Deliver premium live event, the brand’s biggest show of the year.

Nearly a year later, Saints made it clear in a recent interview with Pakinomist Digital that he wants to continue reaping the accolades while in NXT.

He sees a chance to become a two-time NXT Champion at this year’s Stand & Deliver, which would see him mentioned in the same breath as other former stars who came through the brand, including Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Tommaso Ciampa, Karrion Kross, Finn Bálor, Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe.

“I’m focused on becoming a two-time NXT Champion, that’s for sure,” Saints said. “It’s a small list of people who have done it, and I want to put my name on that list. I’ve done a lot in a year. I want to keep doing it.

“I want to add another thing to that list. I want to add, like, ‘Yeah, Ricky was here for a year and he was a two-time NXT Champion. He was a former North American Champion. Like, he did. He opened Stand & Deliver at his first Stand & Deliver, and now he’s going to close Stand & Deliver.’ You can’t get any better than that.”

Saints’ relationship with Page goes back even before the two were in WWE together.

They have either been aligned with each other or directed against each other. The two have not been on the same page for a few months.

“He’s not a bad guy, but the plan hasn’t been consistent with what we’ve agreed to,” Saints told Pakinomist Digital. “So I’ve got to take care of myself to make sure I get the NXT Championship back again. So if he can’t fall in line, then so be it.”

On Saturday, Saints, Page and Tony D’Angelo will compete in a fatal four match for Joe Hendry’s NXT Championship. It will be one of the more highly anticipated matches on the card.
