While Anthropic has yet to say anything beyond looking into the issue, reports of the Down Detector are starting to drop. Let us know if Claude responds in the comments below.

Claude has confirmed a problem
Now, shortly after we encountered problems using Claude and a number of reports about the Down Detector, Anthropic confirmed an issue with “elevated errors” for Claude on its status page.
The full update reads: “We have identified an issue that results in elevated errors on Claude.ai, including desktop and mobile. Users may experience errors when trying to log in, engage in voice mode, or conduct chats with Claude. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible.”
The issues that Anthropic confirmed for Claude are trying to log in, using voice mode, and using chat. The latter is the one I’ve come across, as well as a colleague at TechRadar and a friend flagged it up for me.
