- Dyson has launched a new personal fan for use at home or on the go
- The Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Fan has a bladeless design with five speeds
- It will be available direct from Dyson later this month for $99 / £99.99
Dyson has just launched a new personal fan that you can place on your desk while you work, take public transport or even wear around your neck. The Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Fan has a compact bladeless design and five airflow modes – plus a boost button for when you need quick relief from the heat.
It can run for up to six hours on a single charge and weighs 212g. It comes with a Neck Dock for those moments when you want to stay cool, hands-free, as well as a charging stand, travel case and USB-C charging cable. Other accessories that can be purchased separately include a universal bracket to attach the fan to items like strollers or fitness equipment, and a clip handle to attach it to bag straps or jackets (especially useful for commuting).
The HushJet Mini Cool Fan comes in three colors: Ink/Cobalt, Carnelian/Sky and Stone/Blush, so you can choose one to match your wardrobe.

The new fan looks striking, but it should sound discreet thanks to the HushJet nozzle, which lowers the frequencies so you’re not distracted by annoyingly loud hissing and whining.
It looks like it’s going to be a particularly cool summer because the Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Fan has arrived just a few weeks after the Shark ChillPill – another compact fan with a rechargeable battery designed to be used indoors or on the go, but also has a mist attachment that sprays you with quick-drying water vapor, plus a cooling pad that you can apply on hot days.
The HushJet Mini Cool Fan lacks these two extra features, but is both lighter and more affordable. The Shark ChillPill is $149.99 / £129.99, while the Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Fan is $99 / £99.99.
The HushJet Mini Cool Fan will be available for purchase later this month, direct from the Dyson website and from Dyson demo stores. I’ll be testing it out soon to see how it compares to the ChillPill in terms of cooling power, noise and convenience, and I’ll give you a full review once I’ve reviewed it.
