NEW Strands today (game #767) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #767, are…
- ENAMELING
- PASTEL
- FRESCO
- ACRYLIC
- WATERCOLOR
- TEMPERATURE
- SPAN FRAME: MEDIUM
- My rating: Easy
- My score: Perfect
Judging by the theme, this search was supposed to be either about basketball or paint, but I didn’t expect it to actually be about art.
The incredibly basic left-to-right spangram didn’t change things much, but spotting ENAMEL, and then soon after PASTEL, did – and from here it was a matter of finding different types of paint media.
All was going well until the brakes kicked in at the last word. I had never heard of TEMPERA (tempurayes), and it took a few failed attempts before I finally got the hang of it (for the record, tempera is a permanent, quick-drying, water-based painting medium historically created by mixing pigments with a binder, typically egg yolk).
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Wednesday, April 8, Game #766)
- BLANKET
- QUILT
- AFGHAN
- THROW
- DISTRIBUTION
- COMFORTERS
- SPANGRAM: Bedding
