James Gunn has slammed a new report that suggests four actors have auditioned for an apparent key role in The man of tomorrowaka his Superman movie sequel.

Gunn took to Threads yesterday (April 8), calling out Deadline for its “shocking and incorrect” and “bulls**t” reporting about people who have auditioned for the DC Universe (DCU) film, according to the Hollywood trade publication.

Earlier in the day, Deadline claimed that Star Wars actor Adria Arjona, who appeared in the iconic franchise’s critically acclaimed Disney+ show Andorand Alien: Earth‘s Sydney Chandler was among a quartet of stars who had tested for the role of Maxima. The cleaning lady star Eva De Dominici and Tell me liesGrace Van Patten was also named as a potential candidate for the Fiery Queen of Almerac, who was originally introduced to DC comics fans as a potential new love interest for the Man of Steel.

But hours later, Gunn – who discovered the report after it was shared by comic book fan site Nexus Point News – took to social media to reveal what Deadline had reported.
