Prime Minister, CDF Munir confirms ‘all out support’ to both sides for peace deal

Both leaders express satisfaction with the de-escalation achieved so far and stress the importance of maintaining the ceasefire

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defense Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir on Thursday reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to provide full support to Iran and the United States in reaching a peace deal following their previous two-week ceasefire.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Field Marshal Munir called on the Prime Minister to review with both leaders the progress of Pakistan’s mediation efforts to achieve sustainable peace in the region.

“The leadership appreciated the restraint shown by all sides and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to facilitate and provide all support to both sides to reach a peaceful negotiated settlement,” it said.

It added that both expressed satisfaction with the de-escalation achieved so far and stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire and ensuring continued restraint on the part of all parties.

The statement further said the Prime Minister commended the commitment shown by the parties involved and wished them well in their pursuit of peace.

He also renewed his invitation to the arriving delegations and assured them of Pakistan’s highest regard and support.
