Kevin Hart said he has been bitten by the golf bug. The award-winning actor and comedian will make his debut at the historic Augusta National Golf Club on Wednesday for the annual Par 3 competition.
Held annually on the eve of the Masters, the contest draws participants’ families — and occasionally celebrities like Hart — for a rare chance to caddy or even take a spin on the prestigious course. This year, Hart served as two-time US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau’s caddy.

While the pairing of a native Texan and golf pro with a Hollywood star may have seemed unlikely, the duo seemed to quickly form a connection at Augusta, where DeChambeau gave Hart some pointers on the course.
When asked by ESPN about his goals for the day, Hart made it clear that he wanted to “be the best caddy that every caddy is.”

“I’m not Kevin Hart, the global superstar today. Get it out of your mind. Not the movie star, the stand-up comedian that everyone knows around the world. Throw it in the bag. Today I’m Bryson’s caddy.”

DeChambeau then revealed that he first met Hart while the comedian was delving deeper into golf — a connection that eventually led to them becoming teammates on one of the sport’s most iconic courses.
“We filmed a video a few months ago called ‘Caddie Talk’, just Kevin and me when he was starting golf. I said, ‘Let’s do something fun together,’ so I showed him around the course. He turned into a pretty good caddy – and now he’s got the job here at the Par 3 competition.”

But Hart ended up doing more than what is typical of a caddy Wednesday. Arriving at hole No. 9, the comedian grabbed one of DeChambeau’s irons, stepped up to the ball and boasted that he only needed one shot.
“I’m built for this,” Hart declared.
However, he ended up swinging and the ball fell into the water. The broadcaster gave Hart a slight reprieve, pointing out the actor’s lack of golf experience and the difficulty of making a good swing while wearing caddy attire. “It’s okay, he just started playing golf seven months ago, golf is a tough game,” the speaker noted. “I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt, it’s kind of hard to swing in the caddy suit (and) without a glove.”
