The Pakistan Navy on Thursday successfully conducted a live weapon launch of an indigenously developed ship-launched anti-ship missile that accurately engages its target at high speed and extended range in a resolute demonstration of readiness and precision strike capability, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf along with leading scientists and engineers witnessed the missile launch, the statement added.
The missile integrated a cutting-edge guidance system and advanced maneuverability, enabling it to avoid threats, adapt to dynamic conditions and attack with precision and lethality. The successful launch of this initially developed system underscored the fusion of technological excellence and operational excellence, according to a statement issued by the ISPR.
According to the ISPR, the launch reflected the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to maintain credible sea-based deterrence in the conventional area and ensure maritime security and stability in the region.
The president, prime minister, chief of defense forces and service chiefs have praised the participating units and scientists for achieving this milestone, the statement added.
