Pakistan-Turkiye Joint Commando and Special Forces Exercise Jinnah-XIII was successfully conducted in Turkiye on Thursday focusing on anti-terror operations, the military’s media wing said in a statement
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Army combat teams along with their Turkish counterparts participated in training activities in Ankara and Isparta.
The ISPR said the exercise achieved all its training and military diplomacy objectives, with troops from both countries demonstrating high standards of professionalism and operational excellence during the exercises.
According to the statement, the primary purpose of the exercise was to refine drills, procedures and techniques related to counter-terrorism operations. “Particular emphasis was placed on fighting in built-up areas and countering improvised explosive devices (IEDs) through joint training”, it added.
“It was also stated that the exercise further strengthened the long-standing military-to-military relations between the two friendly nations. The exercise reflected close cooperation and joint commitment to counter-terrorism,” the statement concluded.
Earlier in the day, the Pakistan Navy successfully conducted a live weapon launch of an initially developed ship-launched anti-ship missile
In a resolute demonstration of readiness and precision strike capability, the Pakistan Navy successfully conducted a live weapon launch of an indigenously developed ship-launched anti-ship missile that accurately engaged its target at high speed and extended range,” the ISPR stated.
It added that Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, along with leading scientists and engineers, watched the missile launch.
